When my uncle first got his Jeep, he anticipated the need for a spare tire cover to protect the spare tire on the back of the car. He had looked at a wide range of different spare tire covers without much success at choosing one that he felt could properly represent his own personality. He was about to give up and just go with a plain black tire cover to go on the car.
That was when he ran into an American flag spare tire cover on an online site. He loved this immediately, because it would be a good way to show his love for his country. He says that the tire cover reminds him of his relatives and their struggles in immigrating to this wonderful land of opportunity. The chance they were given by coming to this country made my uncle who he is today.
My friend’s father has been in the army for his son’s entire life. He is often gone for long periods of time overseas and my friend has had to move frequently when switching between different bases. All the same, my friend has a great deal of respect for his father and a great deal of pride in the country that his father is defending when he goes overseas.
To show his support of his father and of the USA he has an American flag spare tire cover on the back of his Jeep. He has received a few snide comments as result of having the cover on his car, but he has also received a lot of good ones. My friend just wants to show off his patriotic spirit and doesn’t care what everyone else thinks of his tire cover.
I always used to laugh at the people who decorated their cars for different holidays. I thought that it was ridiculous to make your car just one more item to personalize for Christmas or New Years. That was until my father joined them. It started when his Jeep donned reindeer antlers and a red nose for Christmas one year.
From there it escalated. Soon there were silver streamers trialing from the antenna at New Years. Then there were heart window clings for Valentines Day. He even went as far as to put an American flag spare tire cover on the back to celebrate the Fourth of July. I can no longer laugh at those that decorate their cars. My father is the worst of them all.
If you want a customized cover for your spare tire, there are many different online stores that have a plethora of ideas and options. However, for those who are more artistic, it might be appealing to make your own design to have on the back of your car. There are a few ways you can customize a tire cover with your own design.
You can make the design and scan it onto the computer then find a store that will use people’s custom designs for spare tire covers. If you’re more of a painter, you can buy acrylic paint and make your design. After you have painted the cover, you add a spray-on clear coat to keep the paint safe from the weather ailments and keep your design prominently displayed.
