A Detroit Lions Black Logo Tire Cover in the Northeast?

drivingWhenever we drive around for long periods of time, either running errands or going on long trips, my son and I like to play games. Some days, we’ll see who can catch the most out of state license plates, while other times it’s who can catch the highest number of blue SUVs. Of course, there are games such as I Spy, but the custom ones always seem a little more fun.
One day, we were trying to spot the most out of state license plates again, when my son caught something even more interesting: a Detroit Lions black logo tire cover. While around Detroit, I’m sure this is typical, it sure seemed out of place in Pennsylvania. This gave us a new game: spot the car accessories that don’t belong.

NFL Spare Tire Cover for the Football-Obsessed

September 26, 2013 @ 10:59 am
posted by Elite_Auto

01-nfl-at-pro-fb-hall-Matt-McGee-fl2Ever since NFL season has started, I can’t walk into a room without being overwhelmed by football. My roommate often has a TV screen and his computer screen up and running with different games playing when Sunday comes around, not to mention the games that he makes certain to watch on Thursdays and Mondays.

My roommate is pretty football-obsessed. He’s involved in six different fantasy football leagues that he’s always checking the scores of while he watches. He’s got tons of NFL merchandise all over the place, from an NFL trash can to an NFL spare tire cover. I’ve never seen anyone so interested in a sport the way that my roommate is interested in football.

A Clemson Tigers NCAA Spare Tire Cover for the Textile Bowl

posted by Elite_Auto

textilebowlThe annual football game between the Clemson Tigers and the North Carolina State Wolfpack is known as the Textile Bowl and has been an annual tradition since 1971. The Tigers’ rivalry with the South Carolina Gamecocks is a particularly bitter and long-lasting one, whereas their rivalry with the Wolfpack is quite a bit more good-natured.

The game is known as the Textile Bowl because Clemson and North Carolina State are both well-known for having two of the largest textile schools in the world, with the textile industry being quite important to both states. When the Textile Bowl comes around, Clemson fans are sure to want to pick up a Clemson Tigers NCAA spare tire cover or a jersey.

A Detroit Tigers Tire Cover Supports a Legacy

qz3plfchujmjek1ll2doI always thought that Detroit lucked out when it came to sports team names. It seems pretty impressive to me that they have one team called the Lions and another called the Tigers, two of the coolest animals in the animal kingdom. The Lions were originally established as the Portsmouth Spartans and were based in Ohio, joining the NFL in 1930.

In 1934, the team was purchased and moved to Detroit. Comparatively, the Tigers have always been the Tigers, since the team was established in 1894. They are the oldest franchise in the American League to remain in the same city with the same name. So when someone buys a Detroit Tigers tire cover, they’re supporting legacy that’s nearly a hundred and twenty years old.

Chicago Bears Tire Cover and the Bears-Packers Rivalry

August 8, 2013 @ 11:11 am
posted by Elite_Auto

bearsfans-624x416The longest running NFL rivalry is the rivalry between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers, which started in 1921. The rivalry is credited for the first ever ejections of players for fighting during an NFL game, which occurred between a Bear and Packer player in 1924. The Bears and the Packers, overall, are the NFL’s two most successful franchises in terms of their records.

The two teams have played 186 games against one another, which is more than any other two teams in NFL history. Though the Packers have won 88 of these games, the Bears have won 92 of them, putting them slightly in the lead. It’s not a shock at all that people rush to get a Chicago Bears tire cover or a new jersey whenever there’s a Bears-Packers game about to be on.

The History Leading to a Minnesota Twins Tire Cover

130416070845-01-boston-nation-mourns-horizontal-galleryOriginally, the Minnesota Twins were established as the Kansas City Blue and were a part of the Western League. When the Western League became known as the American League, the team moved to Washington, D.C. and was known as either the Washington Senators or the Washington Nationals. The team moved to Minnesota after the 1960 season of the MLB.

Originally, Minneapolis was offered an expansion team by the MLB, but the owner of the Nationals wished to move the team to Minneapolis and Washington was instead given their own expansion team, who eventually became the Texas Rangers. The Twins went on to become a very successful team and fans are likely to buy a jersey, a headband, or a Minnesota Twins tire cover to show their support.

MLB Spare Tire Cover for Baseball Lovers

July 30, 2013 @ 11:05 am
posted by Elite_Auto

seattle-mariners-mlb-tire-cover-black-vinylMy dad was the one who originally introduced me to baseball. One of my earliest memories is of playing catch with him. The first sporting event I ever attended was a Major League Baseball game with my dad. I played Little League baseball and my dad was the coach of the team; it taught me discipline and I played baseball all the way up to college.

My dad passed away a few years ago but I still associate baseball heavily with his memory because we had so many good times together related to that sport. I think that’s probably why I have so much baseball memorabilia from signed baseballs to an MLB spare tire cover for my car. I love baseball and I can thank my dad for that.

A Signed Alabama Crimson Tide Tire Cover

July 23, 2013 @ 11:00 am
posted by Elite_Auto

1811_2559_largeAs they often are, Alabama Crimson Tide fans are very excited for the upcoming college football season. The Alabama Crimson Tide have long been renowned for their football team and for the 2013 season, they have brought on some of the top recruits in the country. They stand to do very well in the upcoming season as they did in 2012, as the consensus national champions.

The team’s coach, Nick Saban, is now the only coach in the history of college football that has ever won four BCS Championships. It would be no surprise for rabid fans of the Crimson Tide to want to get a jersey or an Alabama Crimson Tide tire cover signed by Saban, considering he’s already going down in college football history as one of the greatest coaches of all time.

Sports Team Spare Tire Cover for a Diehard Sports Fan

TCBKMichBlock2Football and basketball have always been my favorite sports and I constantly find myself going to local games with my friends, whether they’re professional or amateur leagues. I’m the kind of guy who always has a TV with SportsCenter on in his house, even if it’s just muted in the background; I really like to be in the know when it comes to my favorite teams.

I also think that I am quite loyal when it comes to my favorite teams and I’m always trying to show my support for them, no matter if they win or lose. I’ve got plenty of merchandise for the teams, from jerseys to a sports team spare tire cover or two. Even the wallpaper in my game room is decked out with tributes to my favorite teams.

Wrigley Field and the Chicago Cubs Black Logo Tire Cover

June 27, 2013 @ 11:27 am
posted by Elite_Auto

9005_10151553654790659_1210656315_nWrigley Field is the Chicago baseball field where the Chicago Cubs play their home games. The field has been the home ballpark for the team since 1916, though it was originally built in 1914 for the Chicago Whales, part of the now-defunct Federal League baseball league. Though it hosted a number of World Series before the 1950s, the Cubs have never won a World Series there.

It’s no surprise that whenever you roam around the areas in Chicago near Wrigley Field – which are commonly referred to collectively as Wrigleyville – you’ll see many a Chicago Cubs black logo tire cover around, among other decals and bumper stickers related to the Cubs. Even in the face of adversity, most Chicago Cubs fans are ever-loyal to their team.
