The Mascots on a Georgia Bulldogs Black Tire Cover
The Georgia Bulldogs have two well-known mascots: one is the costumed character known as Hairy Dawg, who is known as one of the most recognizable mascots in the country, while the other is Uga, an actual bulldog. Uga was named after the University of Georgia (or the U of GA) and is present at every home football game.
Since 1956, nine different dogs have used the name Uga and all are descended from the same lineage; Uga is generally replaced when his predecessor gets old or passes away. Some of the Uga mascots have been with the team for up to ten years. A Georgia Bulldogs black tire cover and other Bulldogs merchandise will often represent Uga or Hairy Dawg’s likeness on it.
