While many cities have festivals and other activities on an annual basis, Chicago is the home of the world’s largest free outdoor food festival, The Taste of Chicago. New York City might be known as the melting pot, but it’s difficult to find anything to do in the city that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, let alone that is free to attend.

Chicago also has plenty of art to boast about. The Art Institute of Chicago has the largest collection of Impressionist paintings other than the Louvre in Paris. NBC is also based out of the city, the station that is known for being the birthplace of TV soap operas. The city holds many other records and firsts, making residents proud to show off their Chicago Cubs tire cover and other identifiers that showcase their residency.

130416070845-01-boston-nation-mourns-horizontal-galleryOriginally, the Minnesota Twins were established as the Kansas City Blue and were a part of the Western League. When the Western League became known as the American League, the team moved to Washington, D.C. and was known as either the Washington Senators or the Washington Nationals. The team moved to Minnesota after the 1960 season of the MLB.

Originally, Minneapolis was offered an expansion team by the MLB, but the owner of the Nationals wished to move the team to Minneapolis and Washington was instead given their own expansion team, who eventually became the Texas Rangers. The Twins went on to become a very successful team and fans are likely to buy a jersey, a headband, or a Minnesota Twins tire cover to show their support.

Fans Still Show Support with a Chicago Cubs Tire Cover

946417_10151606313505659_1733054711_nSometimes it’s tough to remain a Chicago Cubs fan. The Cubs hold the longest championship drought of all of the major North American professional sports teams, having not won the World Series in a hundred and four years in 1908. Regardless of this long-standing drought, there are still many fans of the team that hope every year that they will succeed.

As one of the two oldest active teams in major league North American sports, alongside the Atlanta Braves, the Cubs have had a lot of time to build up a large fan base, regardless of their championship drought. This is why it’s still common to see people wearing a Cubs jersey or sporting a Chicago Cubs tire cover, as they still believe their team will win someday.

200px-Manny_asking_Umpire2The 2004 baseball season was a phenomenal season for Boston Red Sox fans all over the country. Tensions were extremely high as the season went on and especially so when it was revealed that the Boston Red Sox would be up against their biggest rivals, the New York Yankees, in the 2004 American League Championship Series. Considering theirs is one of the fiercest rivalries in professional sports, this was a big deal.

Of course, the Red Sox won and then they went on to the 2004 World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. They won this game as well, which wound up being the first World Series win the team had made since 1918, a huge day for Red Sox fans everywhere. There wasn’t a fan out there not sporting a Boston Red Sox black tire cover for their car.

51QzrFUFoxL._SL500_SS500_If you’re ever in New York City, you’ll find two types of die hard baseball fans: you’ve got fans of the New York Yankees and fans of the New York Mets. This is one of the biggest rivalries in Major League Baseball and the teams meet six times each season and even once faced off against one another in the 2000 World Series.

These rivalries are tied in with other New York sports rivalries as well. Fans of the Yankees tend to root for the New York Giants and the New York Rangers, while fans of the Mets usually root for the New York Jets and the New York Islanders. Some say this is due to different demographics, but it lets you know a few things about someone who’s got a New York Yankees tire cover.
