When it comes to owning a car, the costs can add up fairly quickly. From repairs to accessories, buying the car itself isn’t the only large price tag you could be looking at. Even the smaller purchases add up quickly. If you want a vehicle that reflects your personality, there’s no reason you have to spend half your income.
Buying things such as a discount spare tire cover or cheaper steering wheel cover is a financially sound decision. These types of accessories tend not to have a different quality with the jumps in price. Rather than buying the name brand designs or having logos from your favorite companies, you can get plain or personally customized items to lower your costs.
Here’s something weird that I learned recently: you might remember actress Rooney Mara from her starring roles in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, as well as her actress sister Kate Mara, who most recently starred on the Netflix original series House of Cards. As it turns out, the two of them are descendants of two founders of major NFL football teams.
Their great-grandfather on their father’s side, Tim Mara, was the founder of the New York Giants in 1925, while their great-grandfather on their mother’s side, Art Rooney, was the founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1933. These teams, of course, have surged in popularity over the years, and it is common to see a New York Giants jersey or a Pittsburgh Steelers NFL spare tire cover all over the country.
Even though I generally drive a car to get around, I wish that the world was more conducive to allowing my favorite form of transport – a horse! Riding a horse into town would be great; I would enjoy it so much more than I enjoy riding a bicycle or even driving a car, in some situations. Horses are my favorite kind of animal and my favorite kind of transport.
Obviously, since there aren’t exactly a lot of places where you can station your horse without problem, riding your horse everywhere isn’t especially feasible. But a girl can dream! I even have a horse spare tire cover because if I can’t actually ride my horse, I can dress up my car as much as I can to show off how much I love horses.
Diehard fans of the New Orleans Saints were heavily rewarded for their loyalty in the 2009 season when they won their first ever Super Bowl championship. Saints fans had some worries not long before that, as 2005’s Hurricane Katrina did much damage to New Orleans and its Superdome, nearly forcing the team to move to San Antonio.
The owner chose to keep the team in New Orleans, however, and in their first ever Super Bowl appearance, every fan who had ever bought a New Orleans Saints tire cover or any other Saints merchandise was overjoyed by the team defeating the Indianapolis Colts 31-17. They are one of only three teams to win their only Super Bowl appearance, alongside the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
